Registering with the Mater Mother’s

FIRST VISIT
At your first visit with your obstetrician you will be provided with a minimum of an hour to discuss your pregnancy and to ensure that you are as best informed as possible. Every one of our obstetric patients are gifted a pregnancy pack full of important information about your pregnancy, as well as some fun freebies for mum, dad and baby.
ULTRASOUND
The OBGYN Australia practice includes the high powered GE Voluson E ultrasound machine. This state-of-the-art ultrasound records videos and images in high quality 3D to give you a photo real image of bub. We will print your images for you or alternatively bring a USB and we will record a video for you to take home. You will be charged this item number once throughout your pregnancy.
ANTENATAL
You will see your obstetrician as many as 12 times in a clinical setting throughout your pregnancy. You will come monthly for the first trimester, fortnightly for the second and weekly through the second half of your third trimester. This is to ensure you and baby are safe and developing in a healthy way. Take home pictures from your ultrasound and show everyone how baby is coming along.
POSTNATAL
Six weeks after baby comes you will come back to your OBGYN for a postnatal check up. This visit is a time to take stock of how your body has changed throughout your pregnancy and how you’re feeling moving forward with parenthood. Although not essential, here at OBGYN Australia we love seeing mum and baby together and celebrating this happy time with you.
PREGNANCY AND MANAGEMENT FEE
The pregnancy and management fee, charged by all obstetricians, is payable from 28 weeks of pregnancy. The PMF is non-refundable from your Health Insurance, however a portion is rebatable from Medicare. Your delivery fee will be billed directly to your Health Fund on your behalf for your convenience.
Our doctors, like all obstetricians, need a weekend here or there to recharge his batteries. our doctors are members of Mater Hill Private Obstetricians, a team of obstetricians that between them have over 100 years obstetric experience. To ensure our patients are well cared for while they’re off duty, another notable obstetrician from this hand picked team of doctors will be provided with all of your obstetric history and information, to ensure that they are well versed in your health needs so they can provide exceptional care in your doctor’s absence.
