Project Description

Our Approach to Fertility

Dr. Gabriel James uses Restorative Reproductive Medicine (RRM), a holistic approach to reproductive healthcare that aims to restore and enhance natural fertility in women and men. This approach combines the latest medical technology with a comprehensive understanding of the natural processes of human reproduction. It is often different from other specialists who’s main treatment tool is in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

RRM is based on the understanding that fertility is a natural, healthy state of the body and that infertility is often a symptom of underlying health issues. Dr. James uses various techniques, including a comprehensive medical history review, hormone testing, nutritional counselling, lifestyle modifications, and surgical interventions (when necessary) to identify and address these issues.

The goal of RRM is not only to help couples achieve pregnancy, but also to enable them to achieve optimal reproductive health and wellness.

What Sets RRM Apart?

Unlike conventional fertility treatments that often rely on assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF, RRM takes a more holistic, patient-centered approach to fertility care. Dr. James focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of infertility, rather than simply treating the symptoms. By restoring the natural balance of the body’s reproductive system, RRM can help couples achieve natural, healthy pregnancies, often without the need for invasive procedures or medications. During the initial consultation, Dr. James refers to published outcomes to compare RRM with known outcomes using assisted reproductive technologies and how they might compare.

Who Can Benefit from Restorative Reproductive Medicine?

RRM can benefit couples struggling with infertility, as well as those looking to optimize their reproductive health and wellness. It is particularly helpful for couples who have been unsuccessful with conventional fertility treatments, or who are seeking a more natural, holistic approach to reproductive healthcare. RRM is limited to couples who wish to conceive naturally. This obviously requires functional fallopian tubes and some sperm via intercourse.

Understanding the Steps and Costs

For more information, please contact our office at 07 3844 9917 or via email (link to contact us). We will provide you with details on the initial consultation fee and any potential ongoing costs. The base costs for initial consultation, investigations and six months of ongoing treatment (which includes monthly reviews with our fertility educator) are about $800 out of pocket costs. Additional costs can include complex investigations, surgery, medications and ultrasounds. This compares favourably with assisted technologies that average $5000 per cycle.

Dr. James is assisted in this work by a fertility educator Linda Tettamanzi who provides education, training in fertility monitoring and oversight of key fertility cycle investigations.
